Eugene makes a worthy point in this. Do a little searching around for an existing LUG but don't kill yourself. Larger cities may well be able to support more than one LUG. Smaller cities are less likely to have one already but it should be easier to find. There is a list somewhere on the LUG ring that you might want to take a look at.
