So the govt. wants to bridge the gap, the ``digital divide''.
Great. And the police (apna pandus!) will detect cyber crimes.
Great. Anyone of or above the grade of a DySP will be allowed to
raid, search or arrest without warrant, suspects in a cyber
crime. ``Cyber crime!!! :-0''. And they're preparing a special
``IT Police Force'' to catch cyber criminals.

All this sounds very funny, somehow. But it won't be funny when
it happens. The police is bound to misuse its powers (judge from
past records).

Those days when we can't program, or just surf the Web in peace
are coming soon. I would hate it if society required me to
compulsorily obtain a digital signature for exchanging email.
And the law is resting complete trust in digital signatures.
Which means, if someone commits a ``cyber crime'' using my
digital ID, I am jacked for life!!! Either I pay Rs. 10 lakhs
(dad!!!), or I sahdofy in the jail, for something I haven't
done! The digital ID proves that *I* have done it, you see!

Is there a good way of protesting or something? Would be nice to
know.
