 That was my understanding, because the standards
define a host portion with all bits set to zero as
reserved for the "wire" 
 I'm confused becoz i tried it on another  ethernet,
 and it didnt give DUP! so i was wondering which is 
 the correct response!

actually..this is the lesser of my worries..what i'm
more stumped abt is the usage of the loopback
interface when i ping the 192.168.* network..it
shouldnt come into play at all!
well..i'm still searching for an answer on that!!
