Dear Sir/Madam,
This is with reference to the article "Childhood's End" by Manoj Joshi on page 10 of Times Of India dated 17th June 2000.
In this article, Mr. Manoj Joshi makes a monumental(i dont know of an even severe word for it) error, and also seems to be totally ill-informed.
Let me quote :
"Napster is just one *devastating* example of what the open source movement is all about."
Is it now? Maybe thats why companies like Netscape, IBM, Sun Microsystems, Oracle are embracing open-source...to create *devastation*.....
And the next line really makes me wonder whether i should laugh at Mr.Manoj Joshi or pity him.
"Its (referring to open-source) leading example is a company called Linux whose computer operating system software rivalling Windows is given away free."
Linux is a company???????????
Mr.Manoj Joshi has not understood even the abc's of Open Source, he calls Linux a company, and your paper has happily gone ahead and printed this balderdash.
Whats journalism coming to?

With deep anguish,
Kishor Bhagwat
