[ILUG-BOM] problem with mysql

hi friends
I recently installed mysql on my machine, but i cannot get it started.
Whenever I try to start it it gives me an error message saying that cannot
connect to mysql local server unix bind. Could anyone tell me what this
means. And how to solve my problem.
