I use comment tags too (in my tarball), the %% was for reasons mentioned
in the text file. I first started on templates about 10 months ago, but
it was in a primitive state then. Improved a lot now, and I understand
much more.
This is basically meant to help others start off on it. Personally, I
think if you're gonna do so much templates and you're not restricted to
perl, use php or zope dtml.
