Do we have this option in BSD?

pwd will give you the current working directory.
passwd will change the password.
BTW, does the machine boot into a shell or does a shell with root
privileges start in runlevel 1 without having the login executable
run before starting the shell?
I think its the second option.
In this case, its just mounting the freeBSD partition from Linux,
deleting the root password from the passwd and shadow files and then booting into BSD
and giving it a new password.
