Mail from ILUG-BOM list (Non-Digest Mode) _______________________________________________ Hi , Philip I would like to understand how the permissions for a user such as 'nobody' are decided by the OS. From what I understand it is the user with least permissions on the file system. Any pointers to useful documentation on setting up a variety of user accounts that we need on unix systems ?? I would like to understand this business in detail. By the way my Apache problem is solved. I am using the Apache to test some servets/jsps locally. regards Rajesh --- Philip S Tellis <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > The other alternative > is to make `nobody' > the owner of /home/httpd but I don't recommend that > because in that case > any cgi script written by any user can mess around > with files in that > directory. > > You will also have to make sure that /home has 755 > permissions. > > Philip __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
