There is another option to create TRANS.TBL files. They are not needed
though; they are simply filename translation tables (8.3 to proper name)
that Joliet makes unnecessary. The options that I used IIRC (was a long
time ago) are:
mkisofs -b boot.img -c boot.catalog -J -L -o cd.iso -r -V volume_label
-v
Note the lowercase -r instead of -R. This resets file ownership to root
and permissions to read only everywhere.
