Dear mayuresh,

you do the following.

at the boot prompt type the command "linux single"

this would bring you into a restricted bash shell

then type passwd to change your root password.

this would work only if you had not protected the restricted login with a password.

if so you must remember your restricted login password. Else this would definitely help you

Hello Guys,

I 've forgotton root password of my RH 6.2 system. I login with another user
but how do I know my root password or directly change the new password.

Is it in the file /etc/passwd....I'm not sure...

Suggest some remedy.
