from what I can remember ... there is a dos utility for old network cards
that can be used to set the mode (pnp vs normal) and IRQ, Base address etc
etc ... for almost any network card ... Can;t remember the name of the
utility... think old or cheap network cards...something like sn2000 or
sn3200p ...
Once u have the IRQ and base add. set .. config. under linux will be
trivial. I have a vague memory where someone used to boot to windows to set
IRQ's and then config. under linux;
