Hi All,
I have installed Red Hat Linux 6.2 on my PC, which has got a 810
motherboard. I faced lot of trouble while configuring the Xserver. Although
with VGA16, I am atleast getting the GUI ( 640X480, 8 bit ) . I also browsed
all the related web sites.One hint from PC Quest I got that, I had to
upgrade my Linux Kernel 2.2.14-12 to 2.2.16-3, which has got inbuilt support
for graphics and sound.
I am booting Linux with help of a boot disk.So I made one boot disk with
2.2.16-3 also.But the system halts at system logger and refuses to start.
Kindly advise me as to how can I upgrade the boot disk to 2.2.16-3 or else
how can I get proper graphics support ( atleast 800X600, 16 bit ) with the
present kernel.
