Hey Guys,
We guys at CHIP are planning on coming out with a CHIP Special on Linux:
Linux for the Enterprise
where the accompanying CD would carry the Debian distribution.
We had earlier come out with a book on Linux fo which we had mixed
reactions. There were some who loved the book and then a few others who
hated us for the type of topics we covered. Using all that feed back we got
from the first book we have decided to come out with this one.
The proposed contents of this book are:

Advanced Linux- Linux in the Enterprise
1. Setting up a Linux Server
Installing Linux
Upgrading & configuring the Kernel
Fine tuning the Linux system

2. Connecting to the Internet
Dialup
Dialup on Demand
Setting up ISDN
Lease line setup
Routing

3. Linux as a file & print Server
Samba
Mars
Netware for Linux

4. Linux as a mail server
Setup
Fetch mail
Qmail
Procmail
Sendmail
Sample Scripts

5. Webserver - Apache
Linux as a Web Server/ Web Application Server

6. Databases
All commercial & free databases
Commercial
? Oracle
? Sybase
? Informix
? Interbase
? Ingres
? DB2

Freeware
? MySQL
? MSQL
? Postgres
? OpenLDAP.

7. Linux as a Firewall/Router/Gateway

8. Fax Gateway

9. Networking in Linux, for small and big intranets: NIS, NFS, DNS, SAMBA,
SQUID

The problem we are facing right now however is a shortage of writers who
know about the topics well enough to write about them.

I have therefore taken the liberty to address you guys at large wondering if
any of you would be willing to contribute to this book.

Send me an email at [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a cc to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
along with the topics you would be interested in covering and what you think
you could cover in that topic along with your contact info like tel no, etc.

Looking foward to early replies from you guys.

Thanx & Cool Regards
Savio
