Mail from ILUG-BOM list (Non-Digest Mode)

Dear all,
I have installed RHL 6.2 on my system.
When I give startx command at the prompt, system response is as if i have
given xinit command.It just gives me a grey background(indicating X is
initialised) with a command window.Then i give kde command and i get KDE
interface and that command window gets converted into a terminal console
program.
If by any chance i close that window in which i have given the kde command,
I am out of X. So i have to keep that window minimised always.
Can anybody help me in solving this problem ?
