I think it is essential to know. Censoring only
sweeps things under the mat and does not solve
anything. I don't see why censorship should be
imposed just because of a few inflamatory mails.
I think LUG members are mature enough to deal
with things in the right way.
As it were I did not see anything inflamatory in
Trevors mail. His was a plain statement in
response to a mail. He did not hype or make any
claims whatsoever. Sagar also drew attention to
the "commercial" angle, which I am sure was meant
to alert all "commercial" mails about not pushing
their stuff (C)overtly.
Also does a mail become commercial if price is
mentioned ?. Or is it commercial if it starts to
speak about it's features?. And what happens if a
member mails about his experience with a
commercial product?. Of course a mix of all three
would be very interesting :-).
I think that members should not respond to such
accusatory mails as they are (usually) sent to
elicit a response and polarise the community.
