[ILUG-BOM] Biginer to Linux

I have a PC with 10.2 GB HDD, 64 MB RAM, with Intel 810 motherboard.  HDD is partitioned into 3. (C,D, E(not formatted)).  How I install Linux (I got Red Hat 6.2 from PCQuest) in the unformatted partition.  Is there is any fixed partition size when I use the default Linux installation ?  I am afraid loss of data.   Please give me details or some helpful links that I could pick.   Dev
