[ILUG-BOM] new to group, need help

hi,

i am using redhat 6.20 linux and am trying out mysql for
database management. i am interested in connecting to mysql server
running on my pc from c++. i tried to load to mysql++ library
which i downloaded from mysql site, it came along with rpm file
to instal it, but it comes out mentioning that mysql server
couldnot be located.

i donot know how to add libraries and header files to g++.
please advice.

can somebody tell me which libs will be better for gui : gnome
or kde.
