Multiple default gateways is easy. Just add them all:
/sbin/route add default gw <ip-address-1>
/sbin/route add default gw <ip-address-2>
Linux will only use ip-address-2 though. The older entry is ignored
until the new one is deleted.
My script was primitive and useless for anything more than a
demonstration of the framework. All you need to do is bring your
preferred gateway to the top of the list. Existing connections won't be
broken as long as the gateway used to make the connection remains in the
routing table.
