Sorry, that doesn't hold in a court of law. No, I, too, don't like it. Can the LUG or ilug-india do anything re portscans and non-illegal uses? I know it's difficult to differentiate, for example, portscans with malicious intent from those without. But I'm sure an experienced sysadmin can tell the difference. For example, a few pings are probably harmless. A ping flood is of course malicious. And if VSNL is so dead-set on laws, why the heck don't they check the spam situation?
