Hi guys,
   My suggestion would be a 33.6Gvc, Lanbit or Dlink or for that matter
any rockwell chip based modem is very good for indian connections and
also cheap.
    The price to quality ratio is the best among these modems.Frankly
33.6 would be enough since lines in Mumbai are not yet able to take 56.6
