I tried installing the same on the very fist day I recevied my copy.

Everything goes OK for me, when the system is rebooted it takes a long time
when it reaches starting amd, and after booting up if I give a halt command,
everything is shut down and after the message
'system is going for halt'
I get some numbers all over the screen.

Is this a faulty installation or what?

Also I get a plain directory listing instead of what 5.2 gives with colored
single line for each file.

Thanks
Regards
Prasad

Ok guys,

CHIP Linux is happening: the Linux Special was released earlier this
week. It is slready sold out.

It went by so fast, that when someone called me a day or two back, I had
to regretfully inform him that it wasn't released yet.

I haven't yet seen my copy, nor have any of the contributors. We simply
don't have any left for even ourselves.

One thing's certain though: you can finally expect Linux coverage in CHIP.
So hit that Reply button and start typing your suggestions. You have the
assurance that there is someone seriously considering your viewpoints.

Please consider posting suggestions to the list. Someone might have a
spark of an idea that another could fully develop.
