what r your monitor specs ? Refer the manual.
If nothing works, try a 640x480 resolution first and then play around with
the settings.

I have installed RH6 from the CHIP CD. During the installation i had
specified the resolution of my monitor to be 1028 x 768 @ 60 hz with 800 x
600 @ 72 hz in the SVGA. but as the instaltion is complete i login and find
the reslotion to haphazard manner under GNOME.
Can any1 help me to resize the screen to 800 x 600 .
