i am chilled out! my only point is, rtfm before you post onto
the forum that's all. i'm no linux guru myself, fact is i just installed linux
on my machine at home. one of the reasons why i chose to do that was because
there is a lot of documentation on just about anything you'd like done with
linux.
i'm not pissed at all - anger is just another wasted emotion.
but trust me (and i have experience posting stuff on tons of programming/user
forums) make sure you do your homework before you post, else you'll be flamed
out far more that my modest reaction.
anyway, let's not waste bandwidth by arguing over silly
issues. the point is - did you find what you were looking for?
once again, try kppp - you might want to set it up so that it
bring up terminal window - just like win95/nt, then once you are sure it works,
try writing a little script that does the logging in part
automatically.
i tried setting up the pppd with chat - but that was a little
annoying, and i don't have any real experience with shell programming. kppp is a
decent alternative, i believe there is also something similar in gnome - not too
sure about that though..
anyway, sorry about all that.
cheers,
sid
