cannot browse the net.

I am using Redhat 6.0 of the Chip Special Issue.

I tried using Kppp to connect to the internet & it got connected
but I couldn't access the net using any browser or internet application. 
Kppplog showed that i was connected & the modem icon was also visible in the 
right corner.

Please help me out.
