It is very useful to know the linux users in once own area.
I dont see any problems in having small groups created.
I dont know why we should feel bad or worse threatened about
such small groups getting formed. (Small is beautiful.)
To tell you an example, there are many linux users in iit and tifr.
They dont come to our meetings, or subscribe to the list, mainly because
their problems get solved by contancting the local linux gurus.
Sooner or later every workplace should become like them.
So having small groups of people who can contact and talk and fix the
problems is a very encouraging trend.
