Development MySql

Hi Friends,

We are planning to go for Application development using Linux/MySql apps
like Payrole, Inventory, Accounting, Billing etc. Can any one of you give
some info.

1. What is the development tool on client i.e user-interface ,Reports etc.
under Window 9x

2. Can VB/VFP etc be client side developement tool say with ODBC.

3. What is the learning curve compared to VB/SQL Server

4. Any body has developed any application which is working on a live
environment.
