hello recently i have installed red hat 6 that came
with august chip CD
every thing went fine except when i started the GUI
it is not rendering properly something wrong with the display both in gnome
and
kde.
i have Celeron 366/32 mb ram/SiS 6326 AGP with 8mb
VRAM/Viewsonic e40
the vga card is there in the list that red hat 6
shows in Xconfigurator
is there anything special to be done for my SiS
card ?
When it started Xconfigurator i selected SiS 6326
then i selected the monitor E40 then as usual it asked me whether to probe or
not i gave probe and it showed me default display as 1024 X 768 ( 8 bit) i
selected that and then in RED HAT 6 there is additional
functionality of checking whether this display is
alright there it tested for the same and said
"Some problem with your x configuration you can go
back and reconfigure it"
i also tried giving conservative setting for
display but it did not work
help me guys !
