Correct JDK version for Linux

Sometime back, I had downloaded jdk version 1.1.7 (glibc) from
blackdown.org, and it
worked fine with RH 5.2.

However, the same does not work with RH 6.0. I get some library missing
related error.

Does anyone know what is the file that I need to download to get jdk 1.1.7
to work with RH 6.0 ?
The ftp sites have multiple files and I dont know which is correct.

I also have jdk 1.2 but its in beta, so I prefer to run an older version of
the jdk.
