What you need to do is get an account like [EMAIL PROTECTED] where the
web space provider will forward all mail that comes to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] gets
forwarded to a local VSNL account. You do not need anyweb space or pop3
space for this.
Its pretty cheap.

Then using procmail / fetchmail, you can get mail from your VSNL a/c at
regular intervals or
whenever you dial up to the internet from Linux.

Either procmail or fetchmail (not sure which) will then forward the e-mail
to the local linux user a/c.
It uses the e-mail header in the original e-mail address to find out who the
original receipent
is. If it cannot find that username, then it forwards such mail to a default
user (Eg root)

You may also have to setup a pop server on linux.

How to exactly do all the above ? I dont know, but its there in an old pc
quest mag, or maybe someone
on the list can give more details, along with how to setup diald for auto
dialing out on any tcp/ip
traffic ?

Thanks
Shahed.
