Modem with Mandrake

Dear friends

My modem is not responding to KPPP & Minicom  in  Mandrake Linux 6 with
2.2.9 kernel
I tried with ttys0 & ttys1 etc.

In the same machine RH 6.0 & Win95 is getting modem and connecting to
internet without any problem.

waiting for some suggestions
