Its been very long since i actively wrote or read from this ml... i have 2
problems:
1) i am running a firewall under linux 6.1. The firewall is firewall
toolkit from TIS labs (www.tis.com). My domain is iiml.ac.in and inside
the firewall i am running a network on 192.168.2.* I am not sure
whether this domain should also be iiml.ac.in or something else. the
question is how to run sendmail. i am running a mail server and a dns
server (again on Linux 6.1) inside the firewall on 192.168.2.2. i also
have a dns server running on 202.54.56.2 outside the fw. when i telnet
to the fw from 192.168.2.2 on port 25 i am able to send mails to the
outside world... but not thru normal mail clients (pine). how do i
configure sendmail ???
2) Is there anyway i can find out the os of a remote comp??? i mean can i
find out under what os hotmail.com runs???
i know that lotsa info might be missing... just mail me back if u need any
other info... i need this help very bad and very quick... all my users are
without any mail access... !!! and i am having a diff time!
