[ILUG-BOM] Fsck

Hi all,

I want to check my hdd for bad sectors. If I run fsck from root, it
gives me a warning message stating that fsck can damage the file system.
Can you guys suggest me a better and the right measures for hdd
maintenance in Linux ?
