In relation... Although many of the users are Young college crowd & like...
basically people who aren't 'afraid' of computers.
<duck> <missed me>
<NOW WIPE THAT SMILE OF YOUR FACES >
We are also seen a very encouraging trend where a number of people who
would not previously try their hand are now attempting to do the same... We
are presently at a very important point at internet usage in INDIA... where
this internet revolution is creeping in accross all walks of life.
We have to ensure that we convince the owners that we ( read: linux ) can
handle that required task.
for many .. even a simple task like typing out a URL becomes a challenge if
something like a wallpaper to IE is applied. They are 'used' to the the same
thing.
This is where I believe Linux can step in. In a way Linux is more "user
friendly" than windows .
HOW? well those who have tried introducing computers to people.. know how
frustrating it is when U get a call saying "It doesn't look the same".
Linux will sit quitely again and again unless told to do something
different. Windows will every now and again throw up a new error /
message... etc... Which although is insignificant to us ..sends a shiver
down
many people.
This is where the strength of Linux at this segment is. Constant.
For most it would not matter which OS they use as long as they can use it.
Again & Again. without complication.
Many owners are using windows more out of "Every one knows it" attitude.
If we give them a viable option that just turns out to be better... We will
have done our mission.
Sorry for the long mail but I think we should keep this in mind.... Heres to
a succesful mission !!!!
LINUX RULES.
