After several failed attempts at getting my system to boot
from the CD, I tried the floppy method only to find out that
I had hardly any working floppies with me, if at all. I
managed to get one .. somewhat working, tried to format it,
barely managed to. I havent used my drive for years now ..
so you know how it is. Anyway, I tried the windows based
step (of the CLX installation) that lets you make the floppy
images, and it kept giving me errors ("can't create floppy")
withought even trying to access the disk - the drive light
wasn't lighting up at all.
Tried the KB at linux.corel.com and got another way to do it
- the manual way - run a batch file from CD:\TOOLS that runs
rawrite to write an image onto the floppy and guess what I
encountered? All the files in this directory were corrupt.
I opened the Batch file in notepad and the first line was:
,@-q$UPtim?r-kد.k
None of the exe files would run, they're all corrupted too.
Great, isn't it ? Guess I'll have to stick to Win9x/2K for a
little longer.
