Abstract: There is an increasing demand for communication networks through
which information can flow
not just freely but also securely, as intruders, criminals, competitors
and other unauthorised entities find
increasingly sophisticated tools to violate the privacy and security of
communications. This seminar aims to
provide an introductory perspective to cryptography. It will also focus on
the various cryptographic
techniques used to encode and decode data such that data can be
transmitted securely.
