I can't say cause I haven't tried any of these. I've heard that lotus
notes has problems (it also has problems with html mail) but this may have
changed now. Does anyone have experience with this? In any case, the
fact that 14 out of 20 mails recd from the group have replies above the
original message means either that people don't read instructions, or that
something is stopping them.

I think we could upgrade the mailing list script. Who's handling it right
now? If you could pass it over to me, I think I can write a small html
parser that will convert an html mail to plain text.

Not really. Since they are stopping shell accounts altogether, there is
no reason why they should upgrade for the sake of a few months and so few
users. They have upgraded systems in the past whenever I've complained
about certain services not working.
