[ILUG-BOM] httpd processes

When I see the different processes running on my system, I saw the httpd process entries 6 times. Out of 6 one consumed 2.34% of memory & other 5 consumed 0.16% of memory. Is it ok if I terminate other processes? I'm a bit low on my mem.   One more thing....I'm using Apache 1.3.6. Does that version has problems handling CGI?   I'm a bit lazy to go through known bugs.... Mayur
