[ILUG-BOM] Modem Doesnt Dial

hi,

i recently installed RED hat 6.1 ..

when i try to configure my modem by using Kppp it detects my modem

however when i try to dial a number i can hear the Dial tone

but after a few seconds the modem just Hangs Up..

I ge an error message as NO DIALTONE

i had a similar problem with Dial up networkin in Windows too

But there i used to uncheck the "Wait For Dial Tone Before Dialing" option

then i can dial the number

Is ther any such option in Kppp where i can uncheck the option for waiting for Dial tone

It seems like ti is a n inherent problem of my modem

but it works fine in Windows when i uncheck the option

Can Anyone help me???
