I
think ur problem can be solved if u went through setting up frame buffer device
driver instead of the normal
svga driver for ur card.If u want a step by step
instruction, get a copy of the latest (Mar-2000) pcq and go through the
section on setting up of display cards for linux in the linux
section.
I am sure this will work for almost all type of
cards...
Bye..

Subject: [ILUG-BOM] Cirrus Display
card
Hi all,
My system has a problem with display, with the
screen showing a constant flicker. This problem occurs only in Linux but
not in Windoze. It wasn't apparent until I started using the GUI mode more
often recently. Its so bad that I have started getting headaches since the
last few days ... and I sure don't want to turn into a wonderful spexy dude
like a certain Mr. K.J. we all know ;-D <ducking and covering my
eyes>
I have a Cirrus Logic GD5430 (Rev 0) Display card with 2MB
RAM. In the Windoze Device Manager, it is listed has having an internal
DAC. It was autodetected in Xconfigurator. I am using a "Generic Multisync"
setting for my Samtron 4Bi ... the monitor might not be the problem; I
tried editing the monitor settings manually in /etc/X11/XF86Config, but
there was no improvement.
Any ideas?
Sameer.
