thanx for the atx3dt help
well my modem now dials as well as connects to my isp
no problems there
i increased the ppp timeout tp 9999
well regarding your problem
u said u couldnt connect to the site by using the URl
well that is bcos the resolv.conf doesnt contain the ip address of the dns
just vi /etc/resolv.conf
and put the adderss 202.54.1.30 next to the nameserver option
save the file and try to connnect
it should work
