You will have to create a separate partition for SuSE for the simple
reason that you would not want executable and config files overwritten.
ie both distros have the same /bin, /usr, /etc directories. To keep these
separate, you will have to put them on different partitions.
in Lilo, you can enter the entry for the new kernel and then rerun lilo.
You can use the same partition for your home directory as that would
basically be the same, but other directories would have to be in separate
partitions.
