This is not a limitation of suse or linux or any operating system. It is
a problem with your BIOS. Some older bioses do not like a boot record
sitting on a cylinder > 1023. You would have this problem with every
single OS. Either get a new BIOS or install the boot record for linux
within the first 1024 cylinders.
