use linuxconf & setup a PPP config with all the
requisite info , eg : phone no , com port , etc ,
etc..
BUT do not tell it to ACTIVATE INTERFACE AT BOOT
TIME...
Reboot & vrythin works fine...
Atleast thats the way i got it done...
& reboot..
