Hi all
I am very happy to inform all the LUG members. ILUG-BOM is organizing
a three day orientation course for Tata Interactive Systems, a
division of Tata industries limited. We will share our experience on
14th meeting with all those who will be there. We will soon have a
similar course open to everyone interested. Since there are many such
requests from other groups, we need to increase the strength of our
resourse persons. Please post your names and topics if you would like
to volunteer to do courses on other occassions.

Outline of the Orientation Course on GNU/Linux
TIS 6th, 7th and 13th May 2000
The course is mainly divided into three main topics:
(a) Introduction and Installation (6th)
(b) Web and Database Server (Installation, Customization) (7th)
(c) Networking and System Administration (13th)
The lectures will be given in the form of Lecture/Demonstrations, and
the objective is to orient the technical staff of TIS for using and
Customizing GNU/Linux. For installation we will be using SuSE 6.4,
though we shall talk about other distributions, by way of comparison.
All the resource persons are active and core members of Linux User
Group India (Bombay Chapter) alias ilug-bom. In the details given
below we have deliberately not allocated the duration for each
lecture. The time will be dynamically allocated depending on the
demands at the time. (We will leave it to the Linux kernel to
decide). However we will begin and end each process from head to tail,
breaking in between though for the essentials. The sequence of
execution is as follows:
