Sometime Today, Gfts assembled some asciibets to say:
> I need some help on networking ... i'm working on linux 6.1
Linux is still in version 2.3.99 or something. How did you reach 6.1?
You probably mean redhat 6.1 (I'm assuming not suse 6.1), so we'll assume
that.

If you want your machine to act as an internet server, you need a static
IP and a dedicated line to the internet. You also have to have a domain
name registered to you (you probably have gfts.org) and you will have to
set your machine as a name server (read the DNS-Howto). Then, at network
solutions, or whatever domain registrar you use, you will have to set your
machine as the primary name server. Ask your ISP to set their name server
to point to your machine as gfts.org and set their name server as the
secondary name server.
> I've installed all possible files for a server and use Gnome too ...
What files would these be? GNOME has nothing to do with network servers.
You probably don't want any display.
