1. i have recd this mail thru ml.

2. there had been a few mails on linux books, though i don't remember
whether anyone by u

3. i don't think anybody else on the ml can know about your ack mail to
majordomo.

4. "plus some answers to queries" is not very descriptive way to make us
recall which mails you are talking about.

5. aaaarrgghhhhh is not a good name for email-id you can misspell it
very easily by missing a letter or punching a letter more than required.
several lists don't allow non-subscribed email-id to post mails.
(ml-admin, could you clarify about this point)

what is wrong with kbhagwat id, that you need to have such a lucid id.

I am reproducing cut/paste the mails having "kishor" in sender as
follows. there might have been more, but i might have deleted them. if
you have used any other identity, email id, please send them so that i
can search them. today being sunday, the day of cleaning
(trash,recycle,tmp),compacting,defrag, scandisk :-))

i wonder if this helps.
1------------
single cd means its probably just an eval version...
6cds...thats coz SuSE is the most 'complete' distro..ya dont have to
keep
downloading stuff from the net..
as far as its comparision..well..every person has his choice..i
personally
like it becoz of the Yast..its a great tool when ur in a hurry..and dont
want to hand edit conf files.
I hear Yast2, with 6.4 is even better...
u probably missed the 'minimal install' button...u can then add only
those
packages u want..
in summary..i think suse is cool...plus now we have official support in
the
form of the dependable prakash shetty :)
ciao

i beg to differ...my sis6215c runs with the XF86_SVGA server and
sis6c215
chipset selected from the sax tool...even on suSE 5.4.

I see your queries have been answered already, but
just one suggestion...mention the distribution (i.e
whether Red Hat, SuSE, etc) . This might get u even
more specific help.
:) all the best!

try this:
create primary partition (u've done this)
Give the rest of the hard disk to extended partition.
In this extended partition, create 3 Logical partitions (i think this is
what u've missed)
Format one for windows (so now u have two windows drives)
one for linux 'root
ne for linux swap.
 This should get u thru.
Also, i'd suggest using the linux 'fdisk' program'..its much better than
the
dos fdisk or even disk druid.
Cheerio!
Kishor

the above one.
