Sometime Today, Siddharth Dalal assembled some asciibets to say:

> Will people stop arging about this. I don't think this is the place to arg
> about text browsers vs graphical browsers.

No it's not, but this isn't about text browsers vs graphical browsers.
It's about maintainig open standards and keeping the web and computing
accessible to everyone - including but not limited to people who either
choose to use text browsers/mail clients, or those that don't have a
choice.

This is the philosophy that makes the GNU and Opensource community so
appealing and what helps it grow. Take that out and you start eliminating
people from participation - people who may have made a large contribution.

> But I must say that using a text browser is using a dukkar fiat when you can
> afford a jag. And telling the fellow in thejag to make his car fiat

1. Maybe you can't afford the jag
2. Maybe you don't like jags

This isn't about making the jag fiat compatible. It's about making roads
jag and fiat compatible. If you want to use a jag, you shouldn't be
slowed down, but you shouldn't stop me from using the road cause I have a
fiat.
