Dear Colleague, This is just to remind you of the following ACM seminar happening today (Friday, 19/5/2000). Regards, - Durgesh Rao, for ACM Mumbai ACM Mumbai SIGART Seminar Friday, May 19, 2000 - 6:30 p.m. Title: Foundations of Fuzzy Logic Speaker: S. Karthik, NCST Venue: Lecture Theatre, NCST, Juhu Abstract: Lotfi Zadeh introduced Fuzzy Set and Logic Theory as a means to model the imprecision and vagueness inherent in real-world problems. When the concepts being modelled are ambiguous, it does not make sense to model information using crisp and precise terms. Fuzzy logic works by exploiting the ambiguities in the language used to describe the problems for reasoning and decision making purposes. The seminar will introduce the concept of Fuzzy logic and will discuss Fuzzy set theory on which it based; as an alternative to the Boolean logic and its counterpart, the classical set theory. ** No fee, no registration required. Open to ACM members, and NCST staff, students and invitees. ** ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Durgesh D Rao (DDR) Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] NCST, Gulmohar Rd 9, Juhu, Mumbai 400049 Ph:6201606x372(o), 6450092(r) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To subscribe / unsubscribe goto the site www.ilug-bom.org ., click on the mailing list button and fill the appropriate information and submit.
