Mail from ILUG-BOM list (Non-Digest Mode) at the meeting.... After a (long x 10 to the power 3) discussion, a vote was taken, wherein, 20 voted for a dual Membership, 2 voted against it.(Surya prakash pl.confirm!!)dual membership means : Membership to the LUG is free, nobody has to pay tobecome a member. Extra 'benefits' /resources would be available to members who pay a fixed amount per annum. This 'fee' was proposed to tide over the expenses incurred by the LUG in domain registration etc.But at the end, inspite of the vote, what *was decided* is that the LUG would meet its expenses thru voluntary *contributions* from its members. And as a (vindication?) of this stand, contributions were invited from the attendees, and a sum of Rs.1600/- (am i right parag??) was collected. This will now go towards the domain charges of Rs.1500/ and the meeting expenses. It was also decided that the ILUG-Bom should register itself as a society. This would enable us to take sponsorships/fees from corporates for seminars, and generally open up a lot of doors for us, since as of now, we have no legal identity.We will need contributions for all the legal stuff here too. Other than this, there was a general undercurrent of excitement at the prospect of a possible sighting of a vulcan...... :-) PS: I noticed that the attendance dropped significantly *after* the tea and biscoot break...
