Now people this is not windows bashing but just to add some fun to this topic, I would like to mention that a few days ago I met a person who is working for a big reputable MNC and is going to help me academically as well. We were discussing certain ideas and then obviously the topic of their implementation came up. Well he said, quite bluntly i may add, that whatever you do don't use the windoze platform. Not even the Win server platform for implementing these ideas. The reason? Well, the apps that we were talking about involved processing huge amounts of data that could take days to run to completion and when you have such mammoth tasks, well, you would be pissed off if the OS gives you the BSOD or crashes and dies, wouldn't you? Well my point is that Windoze doesn't belong in the corporate environment - neither in the server rooms nor on the workstations. If you want security + stability then Linux is for you.
